My printer is on...

My printer is on "idle" and will not print, and I cannot get it going. What should I do?

Technician's Assistant: What's the exact make and model of your printer, and can you guesstimate how old it is?

It is an HP Office Jet Pro 6968 All-in-One, and it is about one year old.

Technician's Assistant: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?

I am printing from a Mac. I think that my operating system is OS X, if that makes sense.

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?

I have been unable to print for about a week. I do not remember any unusual event on the computer or the printer, except that my printing instructions had a box to mark for two-sided printouts and the box changed to black and white printouts.
