I have a 7510 printer and have now replaced all cartridges. It is not printing dark enough for it to be read. The screen readout shows full iink. help

Technician's Assistant: What is the exact make and model of your printer? And what kind of cartridges are you using?

HP 7510....HP cartridges 564

Technician's Assistant: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?

Dell. Trying to print from e-mail

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?

Never happened before unless I've out of ink but these are brand new today

  1. Press the setup icon on your printer (It resembles a wrench)
  2. Select "Tools"
  3. Select "Clean Cartridges"

After the process completes, a test page will print. Please tell me how the test pages appears afterwards

There is no difference. I'm only trying to print in black and white. The test pages all come out in clear colors.

It's never happened before unless the ink was low. I tried to print this morning and it wouldn't print anything except extremely faint....barely readable. Bought new cartridges and installed. No difference. Never had this before. Very depenable

ARe there printing heads or something that needs to be cleaned other than the cartridges?

The cartridge cleaning would have also cleaned the print heads

  1. Go back to the Settings page
  2. Go to tools, Select Print Quality Report

Does this test page differ from the previous one?

Under tools select "Align Printer" please and follow the on screen prompts

It also gave me a print out of light blue lines.

If that is the case it is likely that the print head needs replaced. Since cleaning it had no result and it failed to align, the print head it self seems to be failing

How much is a replacement part and how do I get it. I assume I could install it myself.

Thanks. I'll try those sites and if it's too much I'll buy a new printer for 99 bucks at office depot. You've been very helpful but I'm frustrated of course. Have a good weekend.
