I have an Epson XP410 which I have just replaced the black ink cartridge with an Epson 200XL genuine Epson cartridge, I have tried about 10 or more times to clean the print nozzles but cannot get any black lines to show up on the nozzle check pattern. Any reason? Bob

Technician's Assistant: Can you guesstimate how old your Epson is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?

It is an Epson XP-410. I'm guessing to be maybe 5 years old.

Technician's Assistant: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?

From a Windows 10 PC . All was OK until the black ink ran out.

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?

It was fine until about 2 weeks ago when the black ink ran out and I printed using the other colours for a period before replacing the black ink cartridge yesterday. Then did a black ink cartridge replacement and head clean and nozzle check and no black in on the pattern ever after about 10 cleans.

Until the black ink ran out all was well. When I replaced the black cartridge with an Epson black cartridge replacement I got no black ink showing on the nozzle check pattern and can't after several cleanings and over 2 days of trying.

Please try the following and let me know the response.

Remove all the ink cartridges from the machine.

Then clean the contacts on the cartridges as well as inside the machine itself. Inside means the printhead where the cartrdige seats.

Do this with a small amount of warm water on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab.

If any of the cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging replace them.

Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 5 minutes.

Plug it back it and wait for the insert cartridges message.

Insert the cartridges and check to see if the problem is still there.
