Epson XP-310 printer. Have replaced all ink cartridges but

Epson XP-310 printer. Have replaced all ink cartridges but printer still tells me that the Y needs replacing. Tried and tried many times but it won't accept the new cartridge?
JA: What kind of computer or device are you printing from?
Customer: hp laptop running Windows 10
JA: How long has this been going on with your XP-310?
Customer: Just since last change of cartridge
JA: When did you last update the Operating System (OS) on the computer or device you're printing from?
Customer: New laptop and had an IT man install all necessary. I can try to update if you want me to.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Nothing else seems to be a problem

Have you tried cleaning the contact area behind the Y cartridge?

If that doesn't help then the printhead likely has a fault and will need to be replaced.
