Just set it up and tried to connect to my wireless router

just set it up and tried to connect to my wireless router which doesn't have a wps access button. display on printer says "please wait for a while" but it doesn't seem to move on from there
JA: What's the exact make and model of your printer, and can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Canon PIXMA MX475
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: its new. from Dell studio xps laptop. Windows Vista
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: can't remember what was on display just before but the printer in new and I only tried to set it up this morning
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?

Hi,
I'm sorry about the issue. What is the make / model of your Internet modem/router device?
Do you have windows xp, vista, or 7, or 8, 10, or mac computer?

When the printer says to press the WPS button, can you press the red Stop button, then use the Standard Setup option in order to select / connect to your Wi-Fi / wireless network name?
