I'm getting big broad stripes on all the documents. As I run documents, they move and after a while they go away only to return again. I've shaken my printer toner cartridge and replaced it with a new one. No change in the stripes on the documents
JA: What is the exact make and model of your printer? And what kind of cartridges are you using?
Customer: MX310dn
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC, windows 7 home
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Nothing special just started printing documents with this stripes/smudges about 5 days ago.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No I think that's it.

Let's try a print head cleaning:

Press Menu> until you see the Utilities Menu.

Press Select.

Press Menu> until you see Change Printhead.

Press Select.

Open the printer cover. The carrier moves to the load position at the center of the printer.

Raise the carrier handle up and back down to reseat the printheads.

Close the cover.

My printer does not have Utilities on the Menu. You are looking at the wrong printer. Turns out I had to replace the roller. So no stars for you.
