My xp 950 has given up, xp 950 3yrs old, win 7, happened

Hi john my xp 950 has given up
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: xp 950 3yrs old
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: win 7
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: happened after a paper jamb. I took it to a repairer they think its the logic board but can't source one
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: on power up it goes through a printer head routine then comes up with replace black ink cartridge the goes back and starts all over

Tried a NEW cartridge

I only use new original Epson cartridges - not refillable ones and had never tried to refill one

I just picked up the printer from my local repairer who told me the Logic Board is "fried". I'm not sure he is familiar with Epson printers and am not sure of the answer.
