My 8500 printed black yesterday, but when I turned it on

my 8500 printed black yesterday, but when I turned it on this morning it won't print black, it won't copy black either. new cart ridge.
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: HP officejet 8500 plus
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC, windows 10
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: ran good yesterday, turned off as usual last night, won't print black since I turned on this morning

You can take out the black cartridge, and check for ink residue at the nozzle (bottom where ink comes out). You can also clean the cartridge and cartridge contacts with a lint free cloth and alcohol. However, this problem is very likely due to the reman cartridge. If cleaning/inspecting does not help, I'd advise you to replace with a new genuine HP cartridge, and this will very likely fix the problem.
