my HP 2540 printer will not stay on I have to turn it on when I need to use it I can not find a way to have it stay on when I am online and pause for a few minu
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your HP is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?

JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?

If it only stays on for a few minutes and dies, it is having power problems and should be discarded and replaced.

If "a few minutes" means, like, 45 or 60, check your power save options on the printer's admin menu to make sure you aren't automatically putting it to sleep.
