Hi! My name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you. Let's get started!

Expert:  crash2199 replied 9 months ago.

Did you replace the drum or the toner? A common mistake is replacing the toner and not the actual drum.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
I did replace the drum , in fact I have 2 of these printers and both are giving me bother. If I take the new k drum out of 1 and put it into tho other one it does not give a k error so I suggests on one machine but gives on the other so it looks like the drum is ok. I have given the printer a good clean with mets

I apologize -- I am back in the office now. When are you free again?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I'm usually available 9-5 GMT. What times would be best to try?
Expert:  crash2199 replied 8 months ago.

Try this:

1. Turn machine on while pushing and holding the TWO up/down menu buttons at same time.
2. Menu window will show "OKI USER"
3. Scroll to " Engine Dialog Mode" is indicated. Push Enter button.
4. "Diagnostic Mode xx.xx.xx S-Mode is indicated.
5. Scroll to "NV-Ram initial" is indicated. Push ENTER.
6. Window shows "NV-Ram- Initial Table 1".
7. Push ONLINE and ENTER Buttons simultaneously and HOLD for 10 seconds after you see "Executing Reset" appear in menu window.
8. Restart printer.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
When I hold UP/DOWN together at startup it comes up SYSTEM MAINTE
I press the Enter button and it asks for a password ***** I don't know
Is there a way I can reset that password?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I can get in with the default password *****
After OKI USER it shows
Engine Diag Mode
Diagnostic Mode 00.00.12 F-Mode
I can't enter that, and if I scroll I can't find NV-Ram Initial anywhereHow can I get to NV-Ram Initial?
Expert:  crash2199 replied 8 months ago.

Are you able to press Enter on that screen?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I can not enter Diagnostic Mode 00.00.12 F-Mode
Expert:  crash2199 replied 8 months ago.

On the Mode screen that you cannot bypass..

Press and hold both Enter and Online simultaneously until you see Eng Diag Level3

Press the +/- until you see Local Parameter Set

Press Enter

Press + or - until it displays Factory Mode; if it displays Factory Mode Twice with an asterisk next to one then it is in Factory Mode; Press Enter, Press + or - until it displays Factory Mode & Shipping Mode on the display; then press and hold On-line & Cancel simultaneously; when it stops blinking an asterisk should be displayed next to Shipping Mode, which becomes the default mode.

Power printer off then on to complete the procedure

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
ok I will try in the AM
Expert:  crash2199 replied 8 months ago.

Okay, let me know how it goes.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
One printer says Diagnostic Mode 00.00.xx F-Mode
The other says Diagnostic Mode 00.00.xx S-Mode
When we press Online+Enter simultaneously at that screen nothing is happening on both printers.
Expert:  crash2199 replied 8 months ago.

Try this:

Press and hold Back, Enter, Plus and Minus on the Diag Mode screen

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Did that, now sequence of different messages coming up.
For example, paper tray end 1, black drum life over (n), cyan drum life over, magenta toner empty warning, belt near life.
Pressed minus and plus, and get a lot of different messages

env. 20'c (072), 5/5 37 % (014)It looks like the messages are changing or updating with % progress. Is this correct?I am leaving it on overnight and will come back to it in the morning.
Expert:  crash2199 replied 8 months ago.

Please let me know what it says in the morning

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Still getting the same messages, what should I do now ?
Expert:  crash2199 replied 8 months ago.

At this point, it looks like it might be a hardware issue with your printer.

How old is the printer?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
The printer is probably 8 yrs old but I have 2 that are tha same model 5650 and another 5600 and they are all doing the same thing. I can not see how they all failed at the same time. There must be some way to reset them
Expert:  crash2199 replied 8 months ago.

I understand that it is unlikely for two printers to fail at the same time with the same issue but it is possible. The steps that I have given you above were to reset the drum counter but none of the steps are working.
