laptop now. JA: What's the exact...
I have a new router and the printer is not hooking up to my laptop now.
JA: What's the exact make and model of your printer, and can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: HP Officejet 4500 wireless maybe 4 yrs
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC ASUS windows 7 pro
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: 1 week I was told it was the router so I got a new one Belkin tried to help but suggested HP would be better
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?

On the windows computer, go to start, devices and printers

Right click your printer and select remove as it needs to be re-added

Then click Add Printer, choose network printer and when it shows, click on it to add it

Once added, try to print to it

I can also do these steps for you, and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) for you. Or if you do not choose to take this service, we can continue here. This is no problem at all. Just let me know please.

I used the printer connection the way it was & just hooked up the router

ah ok, then it has not been connected to the wireless network yet.

To connect it to this new network

1. Press the Setup button.

2. Press an arrow button to move to Wireless Menu, and then press OK.

3. Press an arrow button to move to Setup Wizard, and then press OK.

4. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

Then do my instructions again to add it

On the troubleshooting page my printer is listed 7 times with different endings like copy 1 ,copy4 etc which one do I use?

ok, sorry I am very lost, as I never mentioned a troubleshooting page.... nor do I know what part of my instructions you have been able to complete. I did ask about this a few times.

If you want, maybe it is easier for you if I connect to your computer and do this all for you.

Else I need more clarity please in your responses.

check on the label on the router and you will see wireless key, security key or similar, this is the password ***** need to use.

If it does not take the password ***** it is not connected, so you need to enter in the correct password

how could it be not the right password ? It is printed on paper that I copied on to printer 4 times

No... you need to please more carefully read my instructions.

Can I connect to your computer and do this please, as I have been giving the instructions to solve this for the last hour now, but they are constantly being ignored.
