Wrinkled paper and smeared ink usually means 1 of two things:
1. The toner and/or Drum Unit is not installed correctly, this is doubtful unless these were recently replaced.
2. The Drum Unit might need to be replaced, they only last for about 15,000 printed pages.

Have you ever replaced the Drum Unit?
If not, it might be at that point.

Thank you.

twice in 3 years. But I haven't done it in approximately 10 months. However even after replacing the drum unit, I still get the notice to replace it, notwithstanding the brand new units.

Thank you for the update, I look forward to the results.

It was a defective part. The Brother service department will make a house call to replace the part. No further response on your part is needed. Thank you.
