I've got an E7-11 error on a Sharp AR 286 and need to try to

Customer Question

I've got an E7-11 error on a Sharp AR 286 and need to try to repair it myself.
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: see my last note. It's about 15 years old, but low copies total.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: I'm not. The Sharp is a standalone digital copier.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: It was fine. Turned it on a week ago and got the error message.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No. Any charge for this service? if so, what is it?

E7-11 is a white level shading correction error. Basically your lamp is going bad or already has gone bad. You will either have to buy a new lamp and install it or invest in a new printer. Not sure if the lamps are still being made after 15 years.
