My canon MG7120 shows an error message when I try to print.

My canon MG7120 shows an error message when I try to print. However, it will print from copy.
JA: Has your Canon done this before? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: No it has not done it before. It's about a year old. I went on vacation for two weeks, took my laptop and when I came back, plugged in the laptop and that's when I got the error message. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, put different inks, in but it still has the error message.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC and Windows 8.1
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Nothing. It was fine when I left, but has had the problem just since I plugged the computer back in after vacation.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I also have a Canon Pro 9000 that also has the error message and it was just fine before I left. Seems odd to me that they both have the same problem.

is this a wifi printer ?

what probably happened is that the printers received new IP addresses because they were turned off for so long while you were on vacation that the old one expired. The computer therefore does not know where they are.

what you want to do is go to the devices and printers folder.

remove the printers from there.

then click on the add printer button

let it search and it should find the printer(s)

one at a time select it and click next next next etc

it will reinstall it with the new ip address and it should work fine.
