Printer Repair Questions? Ask IT Technicians for Answers ASAP
Hi, I'm Nathan.Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with this but I'll do my best to help you.
The cartridge you have is the problem here, generic cartridges are often faulty right out of the box. There is a chip in them that is not always functional or compatible.
This is not a matter of resetting the printer, it is not recognizing the new cartridge and there is no code or reset that will change that.
I would recommend contacting the seller and having them exchange or refund that cartridge.
I would also recommend using the OEM/brother cartridge: http://amzn.to/2dAdwsL
they do cost about twice as much, but have better print quality and last longer.
Best regards ***** ***** for the news,
