Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

The destination for scanned items is a setting that either the printer or the software will demand when you try to scan. (Or, you'll get an error message about needing to set up the scanning/destination or the like.)

What is currently happening when you try to scan?

And, what application are you trying to scan with?

(Try the

From Scanner or Camera

function of the Paint program on your Windows 10 computer. Is that option grayed out and unusable?)

A little more dialogue, back and forth, about the problem might (or might have) revealed the problem. JustAnswer also does discussions of problems. Good luck with whatever path you choose. Thank you for asking your question here at JustAnswer.com.
