Canon MF 8350 cdn

I use an ethernet cord that goes from my printer to the cable modem and my iMac connects to the cable modem as well.

you will have to uninstall the currently installed printer and then restart the computer.

Make sure the printer is powered off while you remove the driver software.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I should:
(1) Uninstall the currently installed printer
(2) Restart the computer
(3) Then turn on the printer?

How do I uninstall the printer?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Is it more than just deleting the printer from the Printers & Scanners window?
Expert:  Michelle replied 11 months ago.

uninstall the currently installed Printer Driver

Disconnect the USB cable or the lan cable between the Macintosh and your printer.

Log on as an "Administrator" or the primary user account you initially created when you got your mac

Select System Preferences from the Apple Menu.

Click the Printer & Fax icon.

press and hold down the Option key on the keyboard while clicking the ( - ) minus sign on the print & scan window. Click on Reset Printing System.

incase there is no printer in the list then press and hold down the Control key while holding down press the + sign to add the printer. Select your printer from the list.
