On a Brother all in one laser printer MFC 9560cdw, I keep

Customer Question

On a Brother all in one laser printer MFC 9560cdw, I keep getting a no paper tray alarm when I try to print from the computer (a direct cable). There is a paper tray with paper and it prints fine in copy mode, so there is no mechanical fault. Tried the usual restarts, resets, and power disconnects. No luck
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Brother is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: Four years old. It's an MFC 9560 cdw.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: A PC, windows 7.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: For five hours, and no special event occurred prior to this problem.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hey there, I'm Tim and will be assisting you, saddle printers do not last very long....Five years is about x2 what id expect out of a printer....Sound like the paper sensor is out, and it will cost something like 30% to have it fixed instead of replacing it...And i WOULD stay away from Cannon.....Lexmark, brother are better, and you can get one for under 120.

How can the paper sensor be out when it senses paper for making copies just fine?
Expert:  Tim replied 1 year ago.

Good question. There are often times two sensors, OR there is a chance its a software problem on the PC

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Well even though my driver was up to date, I downloaded the firmware again, and it fixed the problem. Thank You.

No problem, same idea!
