What program or application are you printing the DVI document from?

Does the Canon PIXMA printer still print other documents in full color? and not in black. Then it is not a fault with the Canon PIXMA printer. Instead it is a fault perhaps with the program the DVI document is being printed from... or the settings in that program.

It is possible that the DVI document will have to be printed with different settings, or from a different program.

Check settings for printing, or for the printer, for a 'grayscale' option, and disable it. Grayscale printing will print in black ink, as you have observed.
