Customer Question

Vixia HF200. I am using 2 mics. A shotgun attached to the hot shoe, and an Azden wireless lavalier connected to the mic port in back.
This has worked successfully for several years. Until Thursday.
Since then video recorded has had the sound muffled.
I reset the factory defaults. And retested.
The shotgun mic alone records just fine.
The lavalier alone is muffled. Using both mics in tandem muffles both.
the level meter on the screen indicates the sound is being received just fine.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

I suspect that your Lavalier microphone is defective.

What I am really thinking is, that the Lavalier's defect is predominating over the other microphone.

Either that or, you may perhaps need to change microphone settings in the camera... I'm not overly sure what the settings available for your model of Vixia are, or even if there are any. But it's worth checking on.
