lexmark 2690 series
My printer will print but it will not print in black ink.I have a new cartridge in it but it prints in a pale red color. How do I get it to print in black.
When I go to file and choose print it does not give me a choice to choose black or color. WHY?????

Hi my name is ***** ***** I will be the expert working with you today to help and resolve the problem you have posted.

Lets try to reset the printer.

From the operator panel of the printer, follow the steps in the table.


1Turn off the power to the printer.

2 Press and hold the Color Copy button:

3 Press and release the power button:

4 Once you see a '0' on the display, release the Color Copy button.

5 Press the up arrow buttonuntil a ' 5' appears on the display.

6 Press the Black Copy buttonto restore the printer settings to the factory defaults. When the reset process is complete, the printer will automatically reboot.
