I have a new Canon F166400 but it is not detected on my MacBook Pro network; I'm uncertain what drivers to download and why the printer isn't visible over my Wifi. I don't have the specific cable I need to run directly to the printer and my computer.

Yes, sorry, it's an imageCLASS LBP6030w.
At least that's the only other thing besides the manufacturing date and the serial number. I am running Yosemite 10.10.5 My router is a Netgear N900/CG4500BD.
Thank you. Have you downloaded / installed the "[Mac] UFRII LT Printer Driver Ver.1.3.1", and the "[Mac] MF/LBP Network Setup Tool Ver.2.20" at the Canon website below yet:

Can you please check if there is a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on your modem/router?
