Printer Repair Questions? Ask IT Technicians for Answers ASAP
Hello, I’m Nathan, and I’ll be assisting you today. My livelihood depends on your positive feedback, so your satisfaction is my highest priority.
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble.
Which specific light are you seeing? Any pattern to it?
Any error/message on the display screen?
Press the i button above the status light, then on Printer Information line on the screen and tell me what you see.
Is it preventing you from doing anything? The flashing initially, in blue, just means the printer is in a ready state or preparing/processing information.
It does not necessarily mean an error. If you try to print or make a copy, is it unresponsive?
That is normal, it is just showing you the level of the ink. It would show a triangle and ! over them if any were low/empty, do you see something like that?
That is just showing you the cartridge layout, not indicating any problem.
Status can indicate any status, good or bad. Blue is a positive indicator for these machines. It simply indicates action.
If it was amber, then it would be indicating a problem.
Is it actually indicating that an update is needed?Unless you are having a specific problem, an update is not necessary.
You can process the update with the firmware updater tool from your computer though if needed, it does not have to be done from the printer itself.
That can be from a wifi configuration issue. Rebooting your printer and the computer both can usually resolve that.
If it does not, go into the setup menu on the printer and look for the update option there.
It would only show if the printer detected that an update was available and needed.
Personally, I would just ignore the errors from the pc at this point. You could uninstall and reinstall the software if you wish though,
or you can manually do the update with the firmware updater recovery tool here: https://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?UseCookie=yes&oid=232592&prodoid=63099060&infoType=Downloads&detected=yes&platform=OSF_W_7-64
