trying to replace ink. When I open it ink doesn't come out to replace. Any suggestions? I have a Canon PIXMA MP280

Are you saying that the carriage doesn't move over so you can access the cartridges?

That is usually caused by a bad sensor/switch, or the carriage assembly being hung up (paper jam, faulty wiper/absorber, etc).

Did you hear any grinding sounds?
If you lift the lid, does it seem that it tries to move, or is it just unresponsive?

As an initial step, please unplug power to the machine for 60 seconds to reset, then try again.

unplugged , waited replupped. Same results

Unplug power again, and try to pull/move the carriage over manually, it should move freely in that state.
