Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

What error message shows on the printer when you try to print 2-sided duplex?

Or how is the attempt to print 2-sided duplex turning out?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No error. it just prints two separate pages instead of one on both sides.
Expert:  Russell H. replied 2 years ago.

I presume that you did not change any settings.

Where did the jam occur? and what did you do to remove it or clear it?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I was trying to print duplex on card stock and it jammed. I removed the jam as directed in manual.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Now it won't print duplex on any paper!

I need to know, in order to judge as to whether you might have affected the printer in certain ways.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
the jam occurred in the front of the printer. All I had to do was open the front door and pull the paper out. I was using tray 1.
Expert:  Russell H. replied 2 years ago.

Turn the printer Off.

Then check your program's printing settings, that you are printing from.

Then check the printer's driver settings.

In both cases, don't assume that anything is as you left it. It may be, you see, that the act of having the paper jam and then opening the front door, reset some settings in response.

Then after settings all settings properly, turn On the printer again. Try again.

Did what you ask. Still prints two sheets...no duplex.
Expert:  Russell H. replied 2 years ago.

OK. Restart your computer. Then check all the settings again... set them up for 2-sided duplex printing... and see if it works then.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I have done that (more than once) duplex is the default setting. this may be helpful... when the jam occurred it was in the process of printing the back side of the paper. It jammed as it was going thru.

Then you somehow have flipped a 'rocker' component in the duplexing flipper into the wrong position, perhaps.

I don't know how to advise you any more specifically than that... it seems it's the only alternative left.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Okay what do I do about that?
Expert:  Russell H. replied 2 years ago.

Since I don't really know, I should Opt Out.

But I suggest that you open the printer up again, where the card was when you removed it, and try flipping any part there in that region of the printer that can move, into the alternate position. Then close up the printer... and try once again.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
That didn't work either. Guess I will have to call tech support. Thanks anyway.
Expert:  Russell H. replied 2 years ago.

In apology I have Opted Out.
