Hi, I'm Robert and I'll be helping you with your printer question.
it is usually an option in the printers folder
if you right click on the printer and select printer properties
it is a check box on the bottom of the ports tab
i will try to attach a screen shot.
understand that may not be the actual issue but that is where it is turned on and off.

this is the screen shot that shows the setting. you should be able to get to that if you can get to the printers folder from the control panel or start menu and then right click on the printer and select PRINTER PROPERTIES.

actually it was printer properties in windows 7 and 8 and just properties in previous versions i havent checked win 10 yet but it should be one of those.
