I have an office jet 6830. It is relatively new

Customer Question

I have an office jet 6830. It is relatively new for I purchased it March 12, 2015.
Problem: will not print. Error message is Oxc19a0020, there is a problem with the printhead
How is it corrected?

all I get is"problem with the printhead: Oxc19a0020"

please open the printer cover and remove the cartridges
check if the printhead(part in which the cartridges sit) carriage has a latch on the printhead or not
check if you can remove it or not and let me know

let me know which ones from the below you have
ink cartridges 564, 655, 364, 178, 862, 920, 934, or 935.
ink cartridges 932 and 933.
ink cartridges 02, 363, 17, or 801.

the error indicates a printhead fault
usually in case the printer has a removal printhead, the same can be replaced however your printer has a non removable printhead
in such a case the unit would need to be serviced
however you may try the below reset sequence first
please take out the print cartridge
unplug the power cord
clean the golden contacts of the cartridge and printhead with a cotton swab and little alcohol
wait for 2-3 minutes
plug the power cord back in
turn the unit on and reinsert the cartridges
check if error repeats or goes off
still if error repeats then there is a printhead fault and for the same printer needs to be serviced
since the printer is new and within warranty cover, you may contact HP and get the printer serviced for printhead repair
i hope you understand that in case of hardware faults i can suggest cleaning and reset steps but cannot make a bad part work again
