Hi, Please try the following on your Mac computer and check the response. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.Choose Print & Fax (or Print & Scan) or Printers & Scanners.Hold down the Option (Alt) key on your keyboard while clicking the "-" (minus sign that you see on the left pane of the print & scan window, and not on the keyboard) button. Then, choose Reset Printing System. If that does not work, or you are using Mavericks, hold down the Control key as you click in the list at the left, then choose “Reset printing system” from the menu that appears.Then, click the + (plus sign that you see on the print & scan window, and not on the keyboard) sign to add printer. Select your printer from the list.Note : Make sure that you are resetting the printing system before adding the printer. Thank you.S H E F I N

I tried it and the error message says that the "cover is open", but it is closed.

Please do the following. Remove all the ink cartridges from the machine.Then clean the contacts on the cartridges as well as inside the machine itself. Inside means the printhead where the cartrdige seats.Do this with a small amount of warm water on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab.If any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging replace them.Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 5 minutes.Plug it back it and wait for the insert cartridges message.Insert the cartridges and check to see if the problem is still there. Then, try cleaning the printer interior as well as possible. Thank you.S H E F I N
