Our WF-7620 black cartridge 252 was replaced with a 254 generic brand.

Our WF-7620 black cartridge 252 was replaced with a 254 generic brand. Printer did continue to print black for a short time, then became increasingly faint and now does not print at all. Colours are ok and the printer is otherwise fine. Have gone through all the maintenance procedures already but no luck.
