Customer Question

My printer says "5200. Printer error has occurred. Turn off power and back on again. If problem persists, see the manual." Problem persists. This began when I changed the ink cartridge. Also, the printer won't print from the color cartridge, even when it is working. Thanks.

Hi, I'm Robert and I'll be helping you with your printer question.
that is usually a print head error
A. remove all of the cartridges
B. you should be able to move a locking lever and then take the entire printhead up and out
C. if you just want to clear the error you can wipe the contacts on both sides and put it back in
If you want to deal with the no color soak the print head in warm water changing the water every few hours till it stops changing colors
then leave it to dry overnight
then replace it
D. put the print head back in and replace the cartridges
If it does not work at that point try these instructions to clear the error
1. Turn off the printer .
2. Press the Stop button for 2 second and continue holding it
3. with the stop button still pressed, Press the On button, hold it and release the Stop button continue to hold the on button
4. with on button still pressed. Press Stop button 5 times then release together, with the On button.
5. LCD display will blank while the printer resets
6. Turn off the printer then turn it On.
