That's not as easy as it sounds. When I click on the "setup" heading on top, the "quit setup" is grayed out. When I try to move the setup icon on the desktop to the trash it says I can't because setup is in progress.
push the cd button and remove the disk
When I do that it says: "The disk "Canon_IJ" couldn't be ejected because "setup" is using it. Quit that application and try to eject the disk again." Should I try a force quit?
try shutting down the power by holding it down for 5 seconds

I'm running OS X 10.8.5

Click on driver and software
from the Operating System drop down select 10.8
download and install it.
OK, I see the driver and software. Under "show all" I clicked on drivers and it says: "there are no drivers for the OS version you selected."

try to download 10.7 both drivers printer and scanner and once installed we can run mac updates
that should automatically update and if it does not then the printer must be not compatible with 10.8
