Whats the next step

Customer:

Hello

John Brunetti :

Hello, are you using genuine Epson cartridges? Or generic/refurbished ones?

Customer:

Genuine

John Brunetti :

ok, they should work, I understand how frustrated it would be. Please let me know what exact error message do you get.

Customer:

Cannot recognize the following cartridges. All are lit up and is says install them correctly

John Brunetti :

do you think they may be installed incorrectly ?

Customer:

No

Customer:

They only fit one way

John Brunetti :

yes, I have seen this problem before. Usually the printhead inside the printer gets defective. These printers are like disposable items nowadays. How old is the printer?

Customer:

4 years old but hardly used

John Brunetti :

ok, let's try to fix it together, give me one minute

John Brunetti :

please

John Brunetti :

Please follow the steps below:

1- Remove ALL the ink cartridges from the printer

2- Check that there is no residual tape on the cartridges.

3- Then clean the contacts (the hole where the ink comes out) on the cartridges as well as inside the printer itself (you may want to use gloves here)

NOTE: Clean the contacts with a small amount of warm water on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab.

4- If any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging, replace them with genuine and original ones.

5- Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 60 seconds

6- Insert the cartridges and check to see if the issue persists.

John Brunetti :

If the printer is not used for long periods of time, the printhead may become defective. The printer is the part inside the printer that puts the ink into the paper...

John Brunetti :

are you still with me?

Customer:

did that but no differance

John Brunetti :

OK, we would need a printhead cleaning kit. I can tell you where to buy it, it costs $8.41

John Brunetti :
