PRINTERCAT :

Hi, this is Michelle and i will be assisting you

PRINTERCAT :

please let me know that do you get any error message as well along with the error code

Customer:

I'm not sure what you mean - the word 'error' doesn't appear in the small view box, only the code

PRINTERCAT :

ok

PRINTERCAT :

the error code P08 indicates a printhead temperature rise issue

PRINTERCAT :

this usually indicates a fault with the printhead\ main logic board requiring service

PRINTERCAT :

however, you may try the below internediate step

PRINTERCAT :

turn off the unit....unplug the power cable
now remove the cartridge...manually slide the carriage assembly\ printhead back and forth
also clean the rail against which the assembly slides with a tissue ensuring that there is no ink residue on it
clean the golden contacts of the cartridges and the printhead with a cotton swab dipped in little alcohol

PRINTERCAT :

reinsert cartridges and turn on unit and check

PRINTERCAT :

if still the error repeats try an alternate set of cartridges...

PRINTERCAT :

however ecen after cartridge replacement if the error repeats then the unit would need to be serviced for a possible printhead\logic board failure

PRINTERCAT :

if the unit is within warranty cover, you may contact canon for getting the unit serviced else need to contact a local repair store

Customer:

Thanks. I am now getting 'E16' flashing on the printer and an error message on the pc. It says colour ink has run out. I'll go through yr suggestions now.

PRINTERCAT :

ok

PRINTERCAT :

please try the steps..let me know if you face any difficulty or have any queries
