I have an HP Officejet...
I have an HP Officejet Pro L7580 which has not been used much at all. However, the paper jammed in the printer, and after I unjammed it, I started getting a message that there is a printhead problem. What can I do to solve this problem?

Hi there

 

I will almost certainly be a printhead failure.

 

Printhead problems with this model are fairly common especially after an issue jamming the carriage such as blocked path etc.

I have even had new printheads fail the alignment tests or fail completely out of the box and be replaced by Epson as DOA (they seems to acknowledge an issue with them)

 

The practical things you can try are to remove the print heads and clean the contacts with ispropol alcohol or similar or even lightly damp cloth and then dry and refit.

 

If the problem persists then a print head has likely failed. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but these printers have something of a reputation for being weak printhead wise.
