14x +4y = 100 ------ eq 1

13x +2y =74 --------eq 2

From eq 1

y = (100-14x)/4 ----- eq 3

Substituting eq 3 into eq 2

13x + 2*(100-14x)/4 = 74

13x + 50 -7x = 74

6x = 24

x = 4

therefore, substituting x into eq 3:

y = (100 - 14*4)/4

y = 11
