I need help with the...

I need help with the following problems, I have done many of these over and over, I just do not know the formulas. I was hoping that I can get an answer, and the steps to solve each of the following question. I do want the answer, that is a given; but I also want to learn how to do them for the future. That is why the steps are as a important as the answer. I do have a deadline, and would need this by friday. Let me know if this is possible.

1) Find the value of Y for the given values of X and Z

Y=x+z X=4, Z=15
