Dead battery & unable to open front hood.
JA: Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? And have you ever changed one before?
Customer: Unable to get to battery as can't get hood open. Never changed the battery before.
JA: What is the model/year of your Porsche?
Customer: 2012 Carrera S
JA: Are you fixing your Carrera yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Tried connect charging battery to fuse box. Nothing happens.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Thats it.

Do you have a jumper pack or a pair of jumper cables?

Ohh sorry, I see you said you tried connecting it to fuse box.

ok, 3 things to keep in mind here. First make sure the red lead of the jumper pack is on the little copper piece on the side of the fuse box lead that comes out for the hood pop.

Second, make sure you connect the jumper black lead to a good ground, which has to be the metal and most commonly the inside metal portion of the door hinge is used.

lastly, the jumper pack has to be turned on, there should be a switch on it that allows you to turn the power on and off. Of course the jumper pack has to be charged also.
