Hi, I .am wondering if you regularly service this at the local dealer? There were many updates to the PCM system and they have all the discs to update
I am looking at a very long bulletin right now to try and see if your symptoms are in the bulletin
Your symptoms: "PCM switches off and on sporadically. see section 1.10"
There is an update for this but a disc is required for the u[pdate. The dealer has all of these update discs.
The repair as per section 1.10 of the bulletin states the following:
C: Software error.A: Update PCM using "PCM3.1 Update CD" (WKD95280015 or a later version).
If they charge you it should be no more than 1 hr labor. Maybe 1/2 hr.
Your symptoms are in the bulletin:

The repair is as follows:
C: Software error.A: Update PCM using "PCM3.1 Update CD" (WKD95280015 or a later version).-Procedure:- Connect battery charger to the vehicle.- Disconnect any removable data media (stick, hard drive, etc.) connected to the mediainterface.- Switch on ignition and PCM.- Insert update CD into the slot (on CD autochanger: remove any CDs that are alreadyinserted).- CD starts automatically (the message “Medium cannot be played” appears briefly). Itcan take up to 3 minutes to load, depending on the PCM software version.- Once you confirm the update message, a progress bar appears and PCM is reset twiceduring the update.- The update takes approx. 23 minutes (with removable drive) and approx. 37 minutes(with single drive).- When the update is complete, the message “System updated successfully to V1.31”appears on the display.
