Is the heater making any noises? Water flow good?
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
No noises. Flow is perfect

There's 2 items to look at on the heater. First is the flow control thermostat. Which looks just like an automotive t-stat. Second is the bypass, which regulates the flow of water through the heat exchanger. If the unit is stuck ooen, or the material around the bypass has disintegrated, it will allow to much water to not go throughout exchanger and the heater can slowly over heat. If it was stuck wide open, it would be crackling. How confident are you in regards ***** ***** on this in unit?

I'm fairly comfortable working on it. Please advise on steps.
