Customer Question

I have a 2008 master spa lsx700 hot tub. Recently the breaker tripped out of no where. i did reset, however during the evening it tripped once again. then the breaker would not reset at all. I tried to disconnect one at a time each pump(3), circulator but breaker would not reset. I then changed out the breaker. It's a Square D 50 amp. did that and it still tripped immediately. I then disconnected the two copper heating elements and it did reset. so I thought it was the heating element which i replaced. Now I'm back to square one. Breaker won't reset at all. I'm puzzled and frustrated.

Customer: Master Spa
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

It is possible that whatever tripped the breaker damaged the new one. Have you tried disconnecting the pumps (again) and resetting the breaker?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I have, I repeated that process with each pump.
Still trips

So with all the pumps and the heater disconnected the breaker is resetting?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
No, it still trips

Just to clarify, with all the pumps and the heater disconnected from the circuit board the 50 amp breaker is still tripping? Can you locate and disconnect the ozonator and try the breaker again?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Correct all pumps are disconnected.
And yrs6, I also have the ozonator disconnected andxbrramer still trips.
My next step was going to disconnect the hard wiring into the hot tub, cap it off and see if breaker will reset. At least I'll know if breaker is good or bad

That is a very good idea. By disconnecting the main power wires and capping them you can narrow it down to the breaker itself or the wires between the breaker and the spa circuit.
