Hi there, I'm Cole. I see your asking about spas and I think I can help as I have over 10 years of experience in this field.

Do you happen to have the model of the control unit itself?

Does it say it is in EC mode or are you assuming it is?

Thanks for your patience.

It says it is - we go through the steps in the manual to set it to ST, let it set for 15 minutes. We check again and it is back in EC mode. We emailed the manufacturer and they told us to set it to ST mode, then unplug the control module. If it the water temp starts to go up, then its the control board. When we followed these steps, the temperature dropped to 80. We have not had a response from the manufacturer for more than a week.

Alright sounds good. thanks for the info. I am going to contact a source i have and see what to do next. I know that balboa is getting really difficult to talk too. I cannot call them anymore for help which is a very poor tech support move on there part. It leaves even the technicians out of luck when were working on there units. I appreciate your penitence i will get back to you as soon as i here something.

We have heard back from the manufacturer, and they are going to sell us a new control unit. Thanks for your help!

Awesome glad your getting somewhere. If you need any further help i am up for it. Not as common to have a bad topside unit but it does happen.
