With further investigation, found the leaking stops when water level reaches top part of one of the jets. Inspected the jet, and the topmost of the 4 front screws slides in and out. The threads on the other 3 screws easily catch and tighten. The top screw never catches with threads.

It is more likely the screw mount in the housng is stripped rather than the screw. You can try one of the screws that work in that
position as a test.

It is more likely that you will have to replace the housing.
Any temporary fix (different screw, bending screw mount ) could result in future Leaks.

In the long run tvis usally best to replace the housing.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Forgive my lack of knowledge, but what is the "housing" part of the jet and how would I go about replacing it?

it is a matter of redrilling by rotating the mounting plate.

I misread your original question as electrical bay and that is why I got involved . If it looks like we are not getting anywhere here I will opt out and turn it over to a pool guy.
Thanks for tour

The housing would be the part that does not show and the mounting screws would screw into it.
