We are unable to get our salt water pool to produce chlorine unless the pool is in service mode. Can you provide any suggestions on what/where to look for the problem?

The chlorine generator is nature 2 fusion soft - the rest of the equipment is Jandy aqua pure ..... Don't see anything on the equipment that gives distinction in Jandy aqua pure type
