hello, is this first start up of the season?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
the number one culprit is a plugged pilot.Do you have the means/tools to take apart pilot tube and blow out?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sure
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How long will this take? Is calling faster?
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
the best way is to take pilot tube off gas valve and blow high pressure into it. In bad cases the pilot must be taken apart and cleaned. There is an orifice with a tiny hole that the smallest debris or rust can plug
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
Thats really all there is to it...if you have fuel and spark..it is just a plugged pilot
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Describe how to take the pilot tube off
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
do you know what the gas valve is?..it has a 1/4" aluminum tube that comes out the side and runs down to the pilot...you just remove the tube from the side of the valve with a 7/16s wrench
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No help.
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
ok I will take it down a bit.. do you know what the gas valve is?
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
or what the pilot assembly is where the spark happens
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is no tube.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is a long black pipe where 10 flames are supposed to come out
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
you it was a Jandy LRZ? These are all pilot light ignition. If you have direct spark (no pilot) you would get gass across burner and then spark...at any time do you smell gas out the vent pipe?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
Have you taken gas pipe apart to see if the unit has gas?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No this is pointless. A waste of money.
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
I agree...testing for fuel is the very basic. I think you need to call for service...no charge...just do not rate and I will send to customer service.
Expert:  Billy replied 1 year ago.
if you are not versed in checking fuel or electric save it for a professional. I wish you luck
