how do I install a jandy cl340 with multiport valve and no heater

This is a cartridge filter and no multiport valve is needed. You can however use a 3 way valve on the water going into the filter so that you can incorporate a waste line to drain water out of the pool or to vacuum to waste. Not having a multiport valve decreases the resistance in the overall filter system (sorta like removing a clogged artery in your blood circulation system). Since you have a CL model you will only use the side ports that are one above each other. The top port being water that goes back to the pool and the one below it is he water going into the filter from the top of the pump. Would you like a pic of a 3 way valve? Do you need a manual for the filter showing the ports?
