First winter with Jandy JE Pro Series electric pool heater
works fine until today (Jan. 3; Columbia, SC; 50 degrees F))
stops attempt to heat and displayed "air defrosting".
any comments or help. ***** *****

Well that would be normal operation, unfortunately All heat pumps on pools will only function down to 52 degrees outside temperature. Once the temp drops below 52 degrees, the air is too cool to warm up the freon in the unit. Once the outside temp rises, the heat pump will function again normally, but it's acting as it should right now. I have one in my pool and get that error all the time in the spring and fall here in ohio. Let me know if you've got any questions, I'll be happy to help. Jeff
