The loud revving up sound is a sign that the pump has lost its prime or has no water in it.
This can be caused by a clog in the water line. Poor flow or an air leak on the intake side of the pump.
With an air leak you notice your pressure also goes up-and-then down when the pump does run.
There could also be a problem within the pump itself.
Another possibility would be the flow sensor.
You should be able to find the problem by checking each of these suggestions.
The air leak is usually the hardest to find and may require professional help.
I will be glad to answer any questions you might have.
