I have a brand new lxi gas heater and it was installed in October

Customer Question

I have a brand new lxi gas heater and it was installed in October but never used. Just went to turn it on and it kept blowing the breaker. I opened the front and found an electrical board completely burned up? How could this happen? And what do I do now?

The most likely explanation, since you never used it, is a power surge and/or a nearby lightening strike. If you don't have a surge and lightening suppressor on your electrical service this could happen at any time.
