Welcome, I'm Chris (aka-Moose).

  • THE TIME I AM ONLINE, 7 days a week normally online around midday and then late evening until early morning.
  • PHONE CALLS are automatically offered by the website normally after my first reply. I complete calls where I feel it is a benefit.
  • UPLOADED LINKS I SEND, if I upload dropbox links, they will open on a home PC, often they fail on a work PC, on a phone use the box on the top right of your phone screen for direct download.

When the gauges shut off, is the car affected in any other way?

Are those warning lights on briefly or staying on when the cluster is working?

The van runs fine, but the a/c stops. As for the t/c and abs they stay on.Then after driving a while longer all the warning lights flash on and off. the abs and t/c stay on all gauges go to zero, and the radio turns off.
Customer reply replied 26 days ago
can you tell me on line what to do?
Pontiac Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Pontiac Technician replied 25 days ago

Do you have the ability to scan it to see if there are codes stored especially for the ABS. On the gauge issue, I have an idea what that is but I will hold off till I can give a complete answer.

I have a OBDII scanner will that do? Also it showed no codes
Pontiac Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Pontiac Technician replied 25 days ago

See if your scan tool will allow you to monitor the wheel speed sensors while driving. If not then you do not have a scan tool that is good enough to diagnose the ABS.

it does not test for abs what do i do now
Pontiac Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Pontiac Technician replied 25 days ago

Do you know someone with a better tool so we do not have to skip over that issue?

no i do not is it a better OBll scanner? If so what do i need to buy at autozone or oriellys?
Pontiac Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Pontiac Technician replied 25 days ago

Most parts stores do not sale scan tools that are very sophisticated to access all modules. Those tools cost much more money.

What about Zurich OBDII with ABS/Fix Assist/SRS. It does live real-time engine data,freeze frame data,battery/alternator test,oil light reset,battery reset,abs codes/definitions,airbag codes/definitions, and fix recommendations?
Pontiac Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Pontiac Technician replied 25 days ago

I am not familiar with that brand. If your research finds it can diagnose ABS then it should work.

Customer reply replied 25 days ago
they compare it to snap-on Blue-Point EECR3A
Pontiac Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Pontiac Technician replied 25 days ago

Give it a shot.
