Having major problems with low beam headlights. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't. High beams usually work, but sometimes none of them work.

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fuses? Have you checked the bulbs?

Yes

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Pontiac?

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Grand Prix yourself? What have you tried so far?

Bulbs, fuses. Put it in shop last year. Worked almost a year and started doing the same thing again.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Same problem with air conditioning. Works when it wants to.

The headlight switch sends signal to the body control module then the body control module activates the headlight relays which sends voltage to the headlights. The most common problem is the headlight relays so I'd start by replacing those which are located in fuse box under the hood. If good you will need to monitor signal at body control module from headlight switch during problem, if ground signal drops out you know problem is headlight switch. If good then you need to also monitor power leaving body control module to headlight relay. If there is good ground going from switch to body control module but no power leaving body control module to relays you know body control module is problem. This might be a little hard to diagnose if problem is only happening intermittently but I'd expect around a $500 job to have done at a shop. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.
